Itinerary: 

Day 1: Mui Ne – Bao Loc (160 km – 5 hour ride)

Leave Mui Ne in the early morning to visit the fishing village, fairy springs, red canyon, white sand dunes, drop by the local families to know the daily life of farmers who plan the dragon fruits. Continue traveling to the Central Highlands and stop in the K’ho ethnic minority village to learn the culture of their wild life in the edge of the Central Highlands. Arrive in Bao Loc after visiting Dambri waterfall – about 90 meters high. Over night in Bao Loc

Day 2: Bao Loc – Dalat (140 km – 4,5 hour ride)

Leaving Bao Loc for Dalat, visit the green tea farms, the cascade waterfall, Pongour, enjoy the hospitality of the Chill hilltribe by visiting their home, stop for lunch, try the different dishes of the Vietnamese cuisine. Arrive in Dalat around 5 pm after visiting Chicken Village and Meditation Monastery.

Day 3: Dalat – Lak (150 km – 5 hour ride)

Leave ‘Le Petite Paris’ after visiting the highlights of the city such as the Crazy House, Flower Market, Dragon Pagoda, we’ll head for the countryside to explore the rural life of the farmers who cultivate their land whose produce include flowers, coffee, tea, mushrooms, vegetables, amongst other things. Then we’ll stop for lunch, and try the different dishes of local Vietnamese cuisine.

Later we’ll visit the orange agent areas to learn more about the Civil War of Vietnam before 1975, followed by trekking through the jungle to relax and enjoy the breath-taking nature of the Central Highlands, and visit a chopstick making factory, and the rice agriculture of the M’nong ethnic minority.

Lak Lake will be a place where you’ll stay overnight, you can choose a homestay with locals or in a hotel that faces the natural 600,000 sq m lake.

Day 4: Lak – Cu Jut (140 km – 4 hour ride)

Before we depart Lak Lake for Buon Me Thuot City we’ll learn about the daily life of locals, ride elephant to explore the area or take a boat trip around the lake to have some great shots of the sunrise on the lake, or of the fishermen, perhaps trekking to the top of the Elephant Rock to enjoy a panoramic view of the area. We’ll then move on and stop in the city to try Vietnamese fresh spring rolls for lunch.

Heading to Dray Sap fall (the most beautiful waterfall) where you can dip your body into the Fairy Pool next to the waterfall after a hot day traveling before moving on to Virgin waterfall and staying overnight in the bungalow or in the Long House in the jungle.

Day 5: Cu Jut – Pleiku (180 km – 6 hour ride)

The third day will involve traveling on the old Ho Chi Minh trail to learn more about the history of Vietnamese people during the French colony and the Civil War, the daily life of highlanders who live along the roads to learn how they make rice paper and noodles. Then Pleiku is the place where you stay overnight after a long days ride.

Day 6: Pleiku – Kon Tum (90 km – 3 hour ride)

On this day you’ll visit the city for a bit then head to Sea Lake, which used to be a volcanic crater that stopped working a million years ago, a great place to take some good photos for the trip, a place that is also considered the ‘Eyes of Pleiku’. We’ll then continue traveling to Kon Tum where you can visit Kon Tum Prison, an old wooden church, the local orphanage, and in particular the Kon Ktu village where you can meet the Ede hill tribes in their Rong house and learn their traditions, cultures, customs and daily life. You’ll stay overnight in Kon Tum.

Day 7: Kon Tum – Kham Duc (170 km – 6 hour ride)

On the fifth day you will continue traveling on the Ho Chi Minh trail to visit the well-known Phoenix Airport, Charlie hill to find out more about the war between the Northern and Southern Governments. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the different cultures of Ch’ru, Bana, Thai tribes, amongst some of the 44 different ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands. Reaching Kham Duc, a mountain town on Ho Chi Minh trail, we’ll stop and stay overnight.

Day 8: Kham Duc – A Luoi (180 km – 7 hour ride)

Today, you can explore the local market of the mountain town of Kham Duc to learn more about the rural life of the highlanders as well as other ethnic minorities. Leaving Kham Duc for A Luoi, after visiting the marvelous Truong Son Mountain and more of the Ho Chi Minh trail, the typical Rong houses of Tay hill tribe, etc, we’ll then stay overnight in A Luoi.

Day 9: A Luoi – Lao Bao Border (or Hue) (~ 140 km – 5 hour ride)

After a week on the road, we’ll leave A Luoi for the Laos Border, visit the historic vestiges such as Hamburger hill, and again further down the Ho Chi Minh trail between the Laos and Vietnam Border, visiting Dakrong river, and the Khe Sanh Battle field on route.

To Hue: (110 km – 3 hour ride)
If travelling to Hue, then we’d visit the historic vestiges Hamburger hill, Ho Chi Minh trail, Minh Mang tomb, and the citadel. We’d go to small villages to see how they make conical hats, visit Nam Giao old village, and then arrive in Hue around 4 p.m. (You can also go to Hue from Hoi An, after finishing 8 day trip from Dalat to Hoi An, the next day you can head to Hue after visiting marble mountain, the ceramics making village, rice fields, Lang Co Beach, conical hat village… Arrive in Hue around 5 pm.)
